I have included several files that are most often requested by visitors to my office. They include a complete copy of the City Charter, how to file for an elected office, and the (complete text) of our city code.

General


How to File for City Office is available in Adobe Acrobat Format. This format requires that you have the Adobe Acrobat® Reader plugin. If you do not have the reader you can download it free:

Ordinance DataBase

Search through our Ordinance DataBase spanning over seven decades from the present to January, 1929. This database has over 10,000 records with descriptions, bill sponsors, dates introduced, keywords, bill numbers, ordinance numbers (if passed) and the final vote count.

The Ordinance Database also has storage space for Council Minutes and Council Agendas in separate SQL tables. We began keeping electronic versions of these records in 1993 and as time and funds permit we will eventually add all those past records to the database. You can even send a copy or copies of each set of minutes and agendas to yourself or others via email!

City Code


The following files are chapters from our City Code. The files are updated each time I update the code on our mainframe. I must, however, issue the following disclaimer:

The Official City Code is that which is bound (in hard copy) and available at my office. The Official City Code shall be the version used should there be a discrepancy between it and the electronic version which might be caused by human error, electronic transmission, or any other reason.

These files are frequently changed, added to, or amended by action of our Mayor and City Council. The search engine above will search each word of the document and produce any corresponding matches.
